Endoscopy of the GI and Liver Unit, is based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. This is a busy clinical unit that has strong links to other departments within the Lothian University NHS Trust. The main links include the Department of Medical Physics (GI research), Department of Internal Medicine, Department of Surgery, Department of Radiology (TIPSS insertions for variceal bleeding), the Programmed Investigation Unit, Scottish Liver Transplant Unit and the GI & Endoscopy Unit at the Western General Hospital.
